Synopsis

From the director Yuen Woo-ping, the acclaimed action choreographer of THE MATRIX and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, IRON MONKEY was originally released in 1993.

It follows the tale of the 'Iron Monkey' who during the night fights back against the corrupt and unjust ruling government to give hope to the poor and oppressed. No one knows his identity or even where he's from but his heroism and daredevil exploits bring him to the attention of the authorities and the ruthless government plots their revenge.

When the local governor blackmails a nationally renowned master fighter Wong Kei Ying (Donnie Yen), a master of Hung Gar style boxing, into service by abducting his beloved and only son, he faces the stark choice of capturing the Iron Monkey or never seeing his son again. However when the Iron Monkey's identity and true intentions are revealed to him... the tables turn.
