Synopsis

Based on the book The Informant (A True Story) written by Kurt Eichenwald, the movie depicts the true story of the highest ranking corporate whistleblower in US history and stars Matt Damon in the lead role as Mark Whitacre, who is a rising str at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midlands (ADM). Exposing his employer in a multi-national price fixing conspiracy to the FBI, Whitacre sees himself as a hero but the FBI needs hard evidence if the investigation is going to be a success.

Whitacre readily wears a wire and carries a hidden tape, seeing himself as a secret agent, but unfortunately for the FBI their key witness hasn't been so forthcoming about his own indisgressions as regards lining his pocket from the corporate coffers. Moreover, Whitacre's story continually changes frustrating the progress of agents (Scott Bakula) and (Joel McHale). Faced with the difficult task of unravelling the truth from Whitacre's testimonals, the FBI's case against ADM looks increasingly shaky.

Starring Matt Damon (THE BOURNE movies) and directed by Steven Soderbergh (OCEAN'S TWELVE, OCEAN'S THIRTEEN, THE GOOD GERMAN).
