Synopsis

"My name is Robert Neville. I am a survivor living in New York City. If there is anybody out there...anybody. Please. You are not alone."

For 3 years Robert Neville (Will Smith) has resolutely been sending out radio messages every day in a desperate hope that he is not the sole survivor of a fatal virus that decimated life. Despite being a brilliant scientist even Neville could not isolate the virulent virus that was incurable and man-made.

But Neville is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague - The Infected - are closely watching him from the shadows ready for when he makes a fatal error. Driven by desperation he knows that he is outnumbered and time is running out, but he continues his mission to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood.

A remake of THE OMEGA MAN (1971) with Charlton Heston, I AM LEGEND is based on Richard Matheson's novel - I Am Legend.
