Synopsis

A HOLE IN MY HEART is set in a grubby, claustrophobic apartment and it is a fearless, unflinching and deliberately opaque look at modern culture, instant celebrity and pornography - sometimes revelatory, deliberately fragmented and frequently shocking.

Thorsten Flinck plays amateur pornographer Rickard who lives with his extremely shy son Eric (Björn Almroth). Eric spends most of his time in his room listening to aggressive industrial music while in the rest of the dingy apartment Rickard, an amateur pornographer, is shooting his latest film with friend and amateur porn star Geko (Goran Marjanovic) and a young woman Tess (Sanna Bråding). As the booze flows the trio lose what few inhibitions they have and their behaviour becomes more and more disturbing.

Written and directed by Swede Lukas Moodysson (FUCKING ÅMÅL aka SHOW ME LOVE, TOGETHER, LILYA 4-EVER), A HOLE IN MY HEART was recently nominated by the European Film Academy as European Film of the year.

"I have released a little monster in me, which I have been holding back since I started making films. The monster is always with me when I write poetry, so this film is closely connected to my poetry."
- Lukas Moodysson
