Synopsis

Three children, Fly, Stella and Chuck set off on a fishing trip, but get caught up in a thrilling adventure when they accidentally come across Professor Mac Krill's mysterious laboratory deep in a rocky hideaway.

The professor is convinced that soon most of the world will be under water and is experimenting with a potion that will make it possible for humans to turn into fish. As the professor is showing the boys around his lab Fly's little sister Stella accidentally drinks the potion and is transformed into a starfish. Not realising that the fish is his sister Fly throws her into the ocean and she finds herself at the bottom of the sea, scared and alone.

There is only one way the boys can save her now and they too drink the potion turning themselves into fish. They have exactly 48 hours to find Fly's sister and the antidote - or else they will remain fish forever!

Unfortunately the bottle of antidote also ends up in the sea and a fish called Joe gets his fins on it. Joe has spent all his life as a shark's sidekick, but a sip of the antidote gives him a voice and human intelligence and he plans to become master of the undersea world with his newly acquired eloquence. Joe's old "employer", a none-too-intelligent monster shark, becomes his new stooge and Joe becomes master of a whole army of obedient underlings who run his empire.

Fly, Chuck and Stella stumble across the world that Joe has created and he captures them in the hope that they know the recipe for the antidote which is rapidly running out. The three battle against the odds and Fly finds new respect for Chuck whose quick thinking finally saves the day.
