Synopsis

Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor's debut feature HELEN explores a young woman's role in a police investigation that impacts on her own life in a way she could never have foreseen.

A young woman, Joy, disappears and in an attempt to refresh her memory in potential witnesses, the police ask for volunteers to help reconstruct her last movements. Helen (newcomer Annie Townsend) is strikingly similar to the missing girl and is picked from those that volunteer to help out.

Raised in care, Helen missed out on the love and security of a loving family in contrast to Joy. As Helen focuses on retracing Joy's last steps, she increasing feels drawn into Joy's world - loving parents, a boyfriend and the many friends she knew.
