Synopsis
Based on the book "La Question Humaine" by François Emmanuel, HEARTBEAT DETECTOR is a radical and unsettling new French drama that explores the current political, economic and social landscape of French corporate thinking.
Seen through the eyes of Simon Kessler (Mathieu Almaric), a company psychologist working in the Human Resources Department of multinational petrochemical corporation SC Farb, he uncovers a terrible layer of secrets when asked by the sinister managing director Karl Rose (Jean-Pierre Kalfon) to investigate the erratic behaviour of the company's CEO, Mathias Just (Michael Lonsdale).
What Simon Kessler exposes is a quietly riveting mystery of blackmail, betrayal and even murder, as the long-buried secrets of high-powered corporate executives within the hierarchy of SC Farb's repressed past ultimately all come to light and threaten to bring them down.
