Synopsis

HAROLD AND KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY marks the triumphant return of these two hilarious, slacker anti-heroes. The movie stars John Cho (STAR TREK, AMERICAN PIE) as Harold and Kal Penn (THE NAMESAKE, HOUSE, VAN WILDER) as Kumar, two stoners who can't seem to get a break. Their last adventure found them travelling across country to find a White Castle hamburger in order to satisfy a weed-induced case of "the munchies."

Picking up right where we left them in the 2004 film HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE with Harold and Kumar in their apartment after they've successfully completed their White Castle quest, it's only an hour or two later until the guys are preparing for an epic adventure to Amsterdam. Why? So that Harold can win the heart of his crush, Maria (Paula Garces).

This time, the boys get themselves in trouble trying to sneak a bong onboard a flight to Amsterdam. Now, being suspected of terrorism, they are forced to run from the law and try to find a way to prove their innocence.

What follows is an irreverent and epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip around the world that is as "un-PC" as it gets, as they undertake an even more obstacle-laden journey, but instead of a snack, they're seeking to clear their names of the charges that they're terrorists and secure their freedom. Kumar once again pushes the limits of Harold's friendship, patience and sanity. But whatever doesn't kill their friendship will make it stronger.

John Cho and Kal Penn lead an accomplished cast that is peppered with a slew of hilarious cameos, including some recurring cast members from HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE. Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote the original HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE, direct the new film from their original script.
