Two teenagers, Gwen (Isild Le Besco) and Lise (Karen Alyx), have become best friends over the years after spending each summer holiday together on the Brittany coast. Gwen lives there with her mother and father - when he's around. She can't wait to grown up and leave home to escape her parents constant arguing over money. Lise on the other hand has never known her father.
Lise tells Gwen she can't go on holiday but gives no explanation, so Gwen starts going out with one of the local boys she's been flirting and his friends, and has a lot of fun. Lise couldn't confide in Gwen that she had just learn't of her father's sudden death and she can't relate to her mother and sister's reaction to this news. Leaving home she arrives on Gwen's doorstep and stays with Gwen for a fortnight sharing many secrets, thoughts and emotions - all part of growing up.
