Synopsis

You look like a girl who's about to make a mistake," says a voice behind her. Out of nowhere someone takes an interest in her. He is Gabor (Daniel Auteuil), a knife thrower who needs a human target for his show. The girl, Adele (Vanessa Paradis), has never been lucky and has nowhere else to go. So she follows him. The union of these damaged fates will become the two halves of a winning combination. Success descends upon them like a splintered four-leaf clover glued back together. Suddenly, life is good. They can throw knives in the dark, spin roulette wheels, travel by land and sea, walk tightropes and win the game of life. As long as they are together, their luck holds strong. But luck is whimsical when challenged, and it can vanish as quickly as it appears.

GIRL ON THE BRIDGE is filmed in black and white and directed by Patrice Leconte.
