Written and directed by Jeremy Podeswa, Jakob (Robbie Kay) is orphaned as a child during the war in his native Poland and saved by a compassionate Greek archaeologist (Rade Serbedzija).

Over time, Jakob (Stephen Dillane) tries to come to terms with his past and the losses he had to endure. It's ultimately through his writing and the security of true love that ultimately helps him to overcome his past.

The film is based on the beloved and best-selling novel by Canadian poet Anne Michaels.
