Synopsis

FIRST DESCENT chronicles the rebellious, inspiring and sometimes controversial rise of snowboarding setting the standards and breaking the boundaries of this worldwide phenomenon.

Inviting three of snowboarding's early pioneers (Shawn Farmer, Nicke Perata and Terje Haakonsen) plus two of snowboarding's cutting edge stars (Shaun White and Hannah Teter), they are trasported to the edge - the snow covered mountains of Alaska - where these five icons face some of the most challenging natural terrain on Earth.

As the five get to know each other they swap stories, viewpoints, styles and opinions on the evolution of snowboarding. FIRST DESCENT encompasses the snowboarding revolution of the 80s and 90s and creates a fast paced account of a sport that has evolved from a fringe hobby to a full-fledged global event.
