Synopsis

A beautifully drawn love story, the film revolves around two feisty, free-spirited women, Caitlin Thomas and Vera Killick (Keira Knightley), Vera's husband William Killick (Cillian Murphy), and the brilliant, charismatic poet Dylan Thomas (Matthew Rhys) who loves both women.

Broken promises, passion, betrayal, the shadow of war and the constant threat of imminent death provides a vivid setting for THE EDGE OF LOVE. By no means a biopic in the traditional vein, the story explores the collision of the bohemian underworld of war-torn London, and the intimate complexities of two young couples whose lives and loves become dangerously intertwined.

Shot in London and Wales in several of the locations where Thomas lived and wrote, THE EDGE OF LOVE features stunning cinematography, production design, music and costumes, all helping the drama build.

THE EDGE OF LOVE stars Academy Award® Nominee Keira Knightley (ATONEMENT, PRIDE & PREJUDICE), BAFTA Nominee Sienna Miller (INTERVIEW, STARDUST) Matthew Rhys (BROTHERS & SISTERS), and Cillian Murphy (THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY, BATMAN BEGINS).

John Maybury (THE JACKET, LOVE IS THE DEVIL) directed romantic drama THE EDGE OF LOVE from a script by Glasgow-born Sharman Macdonald (THE WINTER GUEST).
