Synopsis
Three beautiful women have each been invited to compete in the world's ultimate secret martial arts tournament. Tina Armstrong, played by Jaime Pressly is a superstar in the world of pro-wrestling. Christie, played by best-selling pop artist Holly Valance, is a fantastically sexy master thief. Kasumi, played by Devon Aoki is a ninja princess, schooled by martial arts masters. All three begin the awesome fighting contest as rivals, but soon find that they will have to team up together to defeat the tournament's sinister secret.
Based on the bestselling 'Dead or Alive' videogame, the story, a cross between CHARLIE'S ANGELS and ENTER THE DRAGON, revolves around four beautiful women who begin as rivals in a secret invitational-only martial arts contest, but find themselves teaming up with one another against a sinister force.
Tina Armstrong, (Jaime Pressly, NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE, MY NAME IS EARL, TORQUE) is a superstar in the world of women's wrestling. Christie, played by best-selling pop recording artist and actor Holly Valance (NATIONAL LAMPOON'S PLEDGE THIS), is a beautiful thief and assassin-for-hire. Princess Kasumi (Devon Aoki, SIN CITY, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS) is an Asian warrior-aristocrat, schooled by martial arts masters. Helena Douglas (Sarah Carter, FINAL DESTINATION 2) is an extreme sports athlete whose tragic past binds her to the remote palace in Southeast Asia where the Dead or Alive tournament takes place.
Joining them at the lush jungle location is a who's who of world-class fighters, all vying for a chance to win the $10 million prize. The contestants include amongst others street fighter Zack, played by former professional football player and actor Brian White (MR 3000); Bayman, played by Derek Boyer, a Guinness Book of World Record holder and known as "Australia's strongest man," and hardman Leon, played by World Gold Medalist tae kwon do champion Silvio Simac (UNLEASHED).
The characters in the top-selling Tecmo videogame series "Dead Or Alive" come to life in director Cory Yuen's (THE TRANSPORTER) original live-action feature film. Filmed entirely on location in China at the Zhejiang Hengdian World Studios and throughout the natural beauty of The Yuzi Paradise in Guilin, the action-packed DOA: DEAD OR ALIVE boasts an international cast of up-and-coming stars and world-class athletes who deliver some of the most extraordinary martial-arts fight scenes ever filmed.
