Synopsis

Digimania invaded the USA in August, 1999 when the animated children's series "DIGIMON: DIGITAL MONSTERS premiered on Fox Kids Network. The DIGIMON series, is based on Toei Animation theatrical shorts from Japan. Within 3 months, the show was catapulted quickly into a ratings and retail phenomenon.

With its television and retail success, DIGIMON has "digivolved" into a motion picture, which Twentieth Century Fox will release. DIGIMON: THE MOVIE has more lush and detailed animation than seen in the series. The motion picture format allows a more expansive storyline and detailed characterizations. A new American child character is introduced, as is a digital mega-monster named Omnimon. The soundtrack, due in September from Maverick Records, features the single "Kids In America," performed by the band Len (Steal My Sunshine").
