Synopsis

DEVDAS is the saga of a man who loved, loved and just loved. A story of love that was above all else. Even life.

Born into a wealthy family that lived in the village of Tal Sonapur, Devdas grew up throughout his childhood with Parvati. If there was someone who protected and indulged him, it was she. When Devdas teased her, fought with her or laughed with her, it was with a possessive belief that Paro was only his... Paro revelled in the overwhelming effect of her Deva whom she worshipped.

The reverie was soon broken.. Young Paro and Devdas were deemed to part! Devdas was sent sway to be educated in London. Ten years passed and Devdas returned a stylish young man with restrained foreign sophistication while Paro still donned the garb of simplicity but fortunately Paro and Devdas couldn't see this. Paro's mother proposed to Devdas' father Zamindar Narayan Mukherjee that Devdas and Paro marry but Zamindar scathingly disapproved comparing the status of the two families. So Devdas wrote Paro a letter asking him to forget her. Both followed different lives that was to lead to a lot of heartache.
