Synopsis

DECEMBER BOYS is a story about four orphan teenagers - Maps (Daniel Radcliffe), Sparks (Christian Byers), Misty (Lee Cormie) and Spit (James Fraser) - living in an isolated Australian Catholic convent during the 1960s. The boys become all too aware that as they get older their chances of being adopted are rapidly diminishing when the younger children are always going first.

Then finally life becomes brighter when one summer they are sent to the seaside by the convent. It's here that they meet a young, childless couple who seem perfect to make their adoption dream come true. While Maps, the eldest, is attracted to a local girl, Lucy (Teresa Palmer), the other boys find themselves competing with each other to become the most adoptable choice and putting unimaginable strain on their long standing friendships with each other.

Based on the classic Michael Noonan novel, DECEMBER BOYS is directed by Rod Hardy (BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA TV series) and written by Marc Rosenberg.
