Synopsis

Four cocky young city guys take a break in the glorious forests of Palmau, all keen to spot the local feminine talent. Hari (Samit Bhanja) the sportsman pursues a tribal girl and learns a lesson or two; shy Sanjoy (Subhendu Chatterjee) has a scare with an eager widow; Shekhar (Robi Ghosh), the clown, gets into his own scrapes. But maybe Ashim (Soumitra Chatterjee) and the beautiful Aparna (Sharmila Tagore) have found something like love. DAYS AND NIGHTS IN THE FOREST stands as one of Ray's most accessible films, and certainly is one of his greatest.
