Synopsis

Poetic, experimental and formally radical, CONTAINER is the latest film from acclaimed director Lukas Moodysson. Stylistically reminiscent of the US underground avant-garde cinema of the late 60s/early 70s, with definite nods to the works of Andy Warhol and Jack Smith, CONTAINER takes an innovative and intriguing look at issues of gender identity, celebrity and consumer culture.

Filmed in black and white CONTAINER is described by Lukas as "a film about the little darling that lives inside all of us. Like Jesus lived inside Mary. Or like Mary lived inside Jesus.". "The camera we used was a Bolex RX5, that was equipped with the following Kern lenses: Switar 10 mm f1.6, Switar 26 mm f1.1, Switar 50 mm f1.4, and a 5.5 mm addition that was screwed onto the 10 mm lens. We used Kodak Tri-X 16 mm B&W reversal film, sometimes pushed one or two stops."
