Synopsis

Adopting the crafty protective cover of a tribute to the marital comedies of 1950s television, the new motion picture COMPANY MAN is at the very same time a searing historical expose, boldly lifting a forty-year veil of secrecy that has surrounded the operative lunacy of "The Company" - America's Central Intelligence Agency. Written and directed by Peter Askin and Douglas McGrath, COMPANY MAN discloses for the very first time the single individual most responsible, the mastermind behind "Operation Mongoose", the covert genius who made it all go wrong -- an undercover figure planted so deep, he got lost for decades beneath the covers.

The very prototype of the undercover secret agent man, he is Allen Quimp.

A satirical romp set in the early sixties, COMPANY MAN is the story of a nerdy Connecticut grammar school teacher Allen Quimp (Douglas McGrath), who stumbles into becoming a legendary international spy hero in an effort to avoid his nagging wife, Daisy (Sigourney Weaver). With total and blissful incompetence, Allen Quimp is one part Inspector Clouseau, one part Mr. Bean, and no parts James Bond. His misadventures give way to his meteoric rise in the CIA, and Quimp soon finds himself leading a band of Agency misfits in a series of lunatic attempts to overthrow Castro.
