Synopsis

"Is your soul weighing you down?"

In COLD SOULS, Paul (Paul Giamatti) reads an article in The New Yorker about a high-tech company that is pioneering the extraction and deep-freezing of people's souls. For actor Paul this could be the solution to his key to happiness, but his plans go awry when he becomes the victim of "soul trafficking".

Paul's subsequent journey to retrieve his stolen soul takes him to Russia in search of an ambitious soap actress lacking talent - his soul's new owner!

Directed by Sophie Barthes, her debut feature following critical acclaim of her short HAPPINESS (2006), comedy COLD SOULS stars Paul Giamatti, David Strathairn, Dina Korzun and Emily Watson. The films was shot on location in New York City and St Petersburg, Russia.
