Synopsis

CIRCUS is a modern crime thriller set in Brighton away from the funfairs and day trippers.

Leo Garfield is a conman hired to murder a businessman's wife but he turns on his client and holds him to ransom threatening to go to the police. Under duress the client reveals that he isn't married and never has been and has no connection to the woman he called his wife, so who has Leo just killed?

Troy is a sadistic bookie and psychopath who could snap at any time and would happily kill Leo as a warning to others. He's looking for the money Leo has gambled on horses.

Moose, a deadly simple-minded giant, is looking for his girlfriend and asks Leo to help. Leo knows exactly where Moose's girlfriend is, he just can't tell him.

Lily is Leo's long suffering, loving American wife, who is not all she seems to be and must have all her wits about her if she is not going to end up with a bullet between the eyes.

Bruno, Leo's paternal gang ex-boss and his sleazy accountant Julius want to help Lily. Julius approaches Leo with a contract on his wife's life but what's their hidden agenda and what game are they playing.
