Synopsis
Set in the 1930s during a turbulent period in China, THE CHILDREN OF HUANG SHI is based on real events and centers on a young, English journalist George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), an American nurse, Lee Pearson (Radha Mitchell) and the leader of a Chinese partisan group, Chen Hansheng (Chow Yun-Fat), who join forces in a desperate attempt to rescue 60 orphaned children caught up in the ongoing war.
As the Japanese occupation of China continues, these three individuals embark on a courageous, treacherous and exhausting mission to rescue the orphans from Nanjing across the snow covered mountains of Liu Pan Shan on a trek of almost a 1000 miles west to the Mongolian desert and western edge of the Great Wall of China.
