Synopsis

From renowned French director Chantal Akerman who also co-wrote THE CAPTIVE, which is based on the novel 'Remembrance of Things Past - Volume 5' by Marcel Proust, the movie explores the relationship a wealthy French man, Simon (Stanislas Merhar), has with his lover Ariane (Sylvie Testud). Simon is fanatical about knowing Araine's every move to the extent of even having her followed and questioning anyone she has contact with. He even deludes himself into believing Ariane leads a secret life loving other women which compromises his relationship with her. Simon's obsessive 'love' for Ariane inevitably leads to tragic consequences with the pressure and damage his behaviour causes.
