Synopsis

The movie is about the relationship between an 8 year-old boy (Manuel Lozano) and his school teacher (Fernando Fernan Gomez) set in Galicia against the backdrop of the growing political climate of fascism just before the Spanish Civil War. 'Butterfly's Tongue' is a species of a orchid, and is used to symbolise 'beauty' which is in stark contrast to the politics of the time.
