Synopsis

Lovable rogue, Specialist Ray Elwood (Joaquin Phoenix), is about to find his own cold war turn white hot. By day he works on a US Army base as Clerk to the inept but caring Commander Wallace Berman (Ed Harris), but by night he relieves his boredom through conjuring a series of black market deals, from selling stolen Mop 'n' Glo to the locals, to cooking up heroin for the base's ruthless head of Military Police.

When new top Sergeant Lee (Scott Glenn) arrives to clean up the base, Elwood thinks it is nothing he can't handle, especially when he sets eyes on the new sergeant's daughter, the rebellious Robyn (Anna Paquin). However when he comes across two trucks full of weaponry and he graduates to arms dealing for black market heroin things spiral downwards and Elwood finds himself out of his depth in more ways than one.

BUFFALO SOLDIERS is a keenly observed comedy directed by Gregor Jordan (Ned Kelly) and adapted from Robert O'Connor's 1992 novel of the same name.
