Synopsis

Dwayne Hoover (Bruce Willis) is a local celebrity in his small town because he stars in his own car dealership commercials but seems to be on the edge of insanity. His wife, Celia (Barbara Hershey), is that way inclined as well. Their son Bunny (Lukas Haas) dreams of becoming a celebrated lounge singer. Harry LeSabre (Nick Nolte) is the sales manager at Dwayne's car dealership and is a closet cross dresser. Kilgore Trout (Albert Finney) is an undiscovered fiction novelist who shares his life with animals and lives in a dive of a place. His work is finally recognised by this small town at an arts festival. Dwayne is influenced by one of Kilgore's books which almost send him over the edge and Kilgore manages to calm him down again.
