Synopsis
BOY A is a powerful coming-of-age story that looks at difficult questions concerning rehabilitation and redemption through the story of one young man, who though only 24 has been institutionalised for most of his short life.
Jack Burridge (Andrew Garfield) with the help of another boy murdered another child when they were just children themselves. Released from prison into an almost unknown world outside the prison walls, Jack now an adult is given a new identity - new name, new job, new home, in effect a completely new life.
But anonymity is both a blessing and a curse for Jack. His parole officer Terry (Peter Mullan) has to try and guide Jack through this unfamiliar and bewildering adult while Jack struggles with not being able to tell the people he gets to know, and love, of his true past and the monstrous crime he committed as a minor.
