Synopsis

A stirring documentary, full of tension and emotion, that chronicles a very special journey up the 23,000-foot Lhakpa Ri peak on the north side of Mount Everest. What turns this particular ascent into such an astonishing adventure is that it is undertaken by blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer (who conquered Everest's peak in 2001) and six students from the school for the blind in Lhasa.

We learn about these youngsters as they climb, both through the stories of their lives and how they face the challenge of Everest itself. A team of cinematographers shooting under the direction of Lucy Walker captures stunning images of the mountain, ensuring that the audience is with the brave band every step of the way.
