Synopsis

An action adventure movie from famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer and acclaimed director Ridley Scott, BLACK HAWK DOWN is the harrowing true account of a group of elite US soldiers sent into Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 as part of a UN peacekeeping operation. Their mission: to abduct several top lieutenants of a Somalian warlord as part of a strategy to quell the civil war that is tearing away at the country. The carefully planned mission goes terribly wrong, resulting in the US military's single biggest firefight since Vietnam. Young Rangers and veteran Delta Force soldiers must fight side by side against overwhelming odds, trapped behind enemy lines until a rescue convoy can be mounted to retrieve them. During this crucible of fire tensions flare, friends are lost, alliances are formed, boys become men and soldiers learn the true nature of war and heroism.
