Synopsis

BIG RIVER MAN is the remarkable documentary that chronicles the World record holding endurance swimmer, Slovenian Martin Strel's, latest feat as he takes on South America's almighty Amazon River that winds down from the Andes in Peru through Brazil to its massive delta at the mouth finally exiting into the Atlantic Ocean.

A film like no other, this is Strel's story. His insane attempt to be the first person to swim the world's most dangerous river is revealed, as the film tracks his progress along 3,375 miles over 70 days on history's longest and most perilous swim.

Against the backdrop of the crisis ridden, spectacular Amazonian Rain Forest and the indigenous people and their villages along the way, BIG RIVER MAN will be colourful, thrilling, scary, often hilarious entertainment that will also be richly eco-enlightening and full of surprises.
