Synopsis
Serving the US in Bosnia, maverick Navy Pilot Chris Burnett (Wilson) is becoming increasingly discontent with the amount of time spent at ground level. However, he gets more than he bargained for during a routine recon mission over Bosnia when he is shot down by Serbian forces.
Witnessing the execution of his navigator, Burdett realises that he must evade the enemy and fight to stay alive. Demonstrating his guile and fortitude, he begins an arduous cat and mouse chase with his pursuers - in particular a ruthless and indomitable civilian Serb, intent on retrieving and destroying any evidence of genocide.
With time running out, Burdett's commanding officer Leslie Reigart (Hackman) is caught up in a battle of his own. Back at base Reigart he is forced to make the decision whether to stand back and comply with NATO orders or try and return his pilot to safety.
