Synopsis

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is the 3D animated Disney adaptation of the classic fairytale.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary in 1991, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST has been digitally-remastered with improved picture and sound quality and has now been released as an IMAX version. The enchanting love story follows the adventures of Belle (Paige O'Hara), a beautiful, local girl from the village who rebuffs Gaston's (Richard White) advances and then discovers her father is being held against his will in the castle nearby where the Beast (Robby Benson) lives. In exchange for his release she stays a prisoner at the castle and becomes friends with the servants who were all put under the same spell the prince was that turned him into a beast and the servants into talking household objects. To break the spell Belle and the Beast must fall in love and overcome Gaston's powerful grip on them.
