Synopsis

The film is set in August 1946, in a ladies garment workshop in the Jewish tailor's district of Paris. In the workshop amidst sewing machines, cutting and finishing tables and bolts of cloth, as well as in the street - a cafe, a hotel room or an apartment that suddenly seems too large. Here four women, five men and their children learn to live again. Devastated but determined, hardened but joyful, they opt for life. These are ordinary, yet also extraordinary people.

ALMOST PEACEFUL is about hope and the resilient human spirit. It is based on the book by Robert Bober, Quoi de Neuf sur la Guerre?
