Synopsis
ADULTHOOD presents the powerful sequel to KIDULTHOOD (2006), the critically acclaimed portrayal of life for 21st century teens, following the development of the story 6 years later.
ADULTHOOD catches up with Sam upon his release from jail, having served 6 years for the manslaughter of rival Trife. The film follows his journey over 24 hours as he is forced to confront the people he has hurt, and see first-hand the effects of his actions all those years ago. Some have moved on, others are stuck with the repercussions of his actions that night, but one thing's for certain - everyone has been forced to grow up.
Sam's first day of freedom will be one he never forgets and is as important in his life as the one that lost him his freedom in the first place. Sam is about to go from KIDULTHOOD to ADULTHOOD... if he survives.
Alongside Noel Clarke, ADULTHOOD re-unites several of KIDULTHOOD's cast including Adam Deacon (WEST 10 LDN, SUGARHOUSE, ALI G INDA HOUSE), Femi Oyeniran and Cornell S John (THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN). ADULTHOOD also marks the feature film debut of Scarlett Alice Johnson (Formally of TV series EASTENDERS).
