X-FILES
SEASON 8
DVD Box Set
The start of X-Files Season Eight (Within) sees Scully (Gillian Anderson) return to the FBI headquarters to find Special Agent John Doggett (Robert Patrick, Terminator2: Judgement Day) heading up a manhunt for Mulder. Having both witnessed his abduction and knowing that this type of search will prove futile, Scully and Skinner turn to the Lone Gunman in the hope of uncovering information about additional UFO activity around the time Mulder went missing.
As the search for Mulder intensifies and it is realised that he will not be found so easily (Without) Scully slowly begins to trust Doggett whom she must work alongside. After all she has been through with Mulder, it is Scully who is the believer as she tries to find a way to work with confirmed sceptic Doggett. As Season Eight develops, the new partners tackle X-Files as gruesome and mysterious as ever. From a killer with x-ray vision (Surekill) to a drug-induced religious cult leader (Via Negative), the X-Files is at its bizarre best.
Though Scully has begun to open up to Doggett, Mulder is never far from her thoughts. In a series of horrifying scenes, images of Mulder being painfully experimented on by aliens haunt Scully and she remains determined not to give up. Throughout all this, Scully must also contend with her developing pregnancy and the mystery of its origins! Doggett calls on his old colleague Agent Monica Reyes (Annabeth Gish, Double Jeopardy) to help in the search, and together they find Mulder's body in the woods (This Is Not Happening).
The unmissable finale of Season Eight is one to beat all others. Told in two parts (Essence and Existence), the fate of Scully's baby is at stake and it's a race against time to save it! With Billy Miles back as an invincible alien hybrid and Nicholas Lea as Alex Krycek proving once again he is the last person anyone can trust, The X-Files Season Eight culminates in one of its most dramatic scenes ever! With the baby's birth imminent, Mulder and Scully's feelings become obvious for one another, and perhaps the greatest truth of all is revealed.
The Season Eight DVD Boxset is also packed with paranormal special features that complement the dramatic episodes perfectly. The final disc includes a 'Truth About Season Eight' documentary, seven deleted scenes with optional commentary, seven special effects sequences, 30 promo spots and X-Files profiles on Gibson Praise, John Doggett and Alex Krycek.
