In Season 9 of the Emmy Award nominated TV show STARGATE SG1, the collaboration of Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson, MacGyver), Sam Carter (Amanda Tapping, Millennium, The X-Files), Teal'c (Christopher Judge, Andromeda), and Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks, The Outer Limits) finally comes to an end with O'Neill's departure from the SG-1 team.

After the annihilation of the SG-1's long-time nemesis the Goa'uld, the team now headed by Cameron Mitchell (Ben Bower, Farscape,) faces a new danger in the form of an alien species called the Ori. When SG-1 discover that a member of the Ancients has been working on a secret weapon as a means of defence against the Ori, they set out in search of it, and get more than they bargained for when they come across a real-life Camelot...

I have to say that although I had watched season 9 on it's original broadcast, watching it again on DVD has been a pure pleasure. In fact I think I enjoyed it more the second time round! I am also a big fan of FARSCAPE so I particularly enjoy the fact that the two lead characters of that show, Ben Browder and Claudia Black, are now regulars in STARGATE. I am also pleased that Richard Dean Anderson continues to make guest appearances and I have to say that I wish he was still in the show full time.

Even so season 9 is still immensely enjoyable and more so on repeat viewings, something that few TV shows or even movie can live up to!

STARGATE SG-1 SEASON 9 will be released as a six-disc DVD set, with special features including documentaries on the key directors involved in the show and a selection of making-of featurettes.
