Review:
The first disc in Season 5 contains four very different episodes. SEARCH AND RESCUE as expected continues the story on from where Season 4 left off and brings the evil Michael back into the picture. Things start to get really interesting with THE SEED as Carson Beckett is found in stasis. Except that Beckett is already dead, but things start to make sense when it's revealed that this is a clone of the doctor.

BROKEN TIES sees Ronan captured and betrayed by an old friend who has become a Wraith worshipper, but it's episode 4 that produces one of the best episodes in the season with THE DAEDALUS VARIATIONS. This episode falls straight into STAR TREK territory with an excellent episode that sees Sheppard and his team thrown into alternate universe on board a Daedalus from another reality that is out of control and rapidly running out of time.

SEARCH AND RESCUE
The season opens after the explosion in Michael's lab which left the team tapped by debris. Rodney realises that a beacon has been triggered telling Michael that they are there. Michael's ship soon returns but the pregnant Teyla is also on board.

THE SEED
Dr. Carson Beckett is found in stasis but as Becket is supposed to be dead the question is exactly who is the Beckett they have found.

BROKEN TIES
Ronan is captured by a former friend, Tyre who is now a Wraith worshipper and tries to use Ronan to win favour. The Wraith attempt to brainwash Ronan to make him serve them.

THE DAEDALUS VARIATIONS
The Daedalus appears in orbit but with no crew on board and severely damaged Sheppard and his team are despatched to investigate.
