Review:
Season 3 comes to a close with Volume 5 which contains the episodes SUNDAY, SUBMERSION, VENGEANCE and FIRST STRIKE. The disc also includes special features Mission Directive: "First Strike" featuring William Waring and Stargate Atlantis: A Look Back on Season 3 with Martin Wood. This final disc has some landmark episodes starting with SUNDAY which sees the end for a cast regular. Whist both SUBMERSION and VENGEANCE are excellent, it's the season finale FIRST STRIKE which will have you on the edge of your seat to see who survives into season four. Beware, as this time a key figure in the show will never be the same again!

SUNDAY
It's a holiday day on Atlantis and everyone has a day off to wind down. Just as people are deciding how to spend the day there is an explosion, then more explosions and a regular cast member on Atlantis is killed!

SUBMERSION
After finding an ancient Atlantian underwater base the team is sent to check it out. However an old Wraith queen who has been trapped in hibernation on the base is woken and on the rampage.

VENGEANCE
The humanised Wraith Michael is back in this episode when Shepherd's team discover him in an underground tunnel system on another planet. He has killed off the colony living there and is carrying out experiments developing a super-wraith.

FIRST STRIKE
A fantastic season finale as the Earth ship Apollo arrives to launch a first strike on the replicators only to find they have built a fleet of ships and are about to attack Atlantis. The attack happens and Atlantis must submerge itself to survive but even this doesn't work so they turn the shields off and fire up the stardrive to attempt an escape with devastating consequences.
