Generally regarded as one of the finest private eye series since the 1970s, The Rockford Files returns in this, third season, with another thrilling set of murder mysteries, corruption and investigations.

James Garner's 'Jim Rockford' - the ex-con turned private investigator who would rather go fishing than fight - earned him an Emmy Award for this season. The Rockford Files adds an element of humour to the drama and it's not surprising that this series is said to have influenced the creation of many other detective shows, including Magnum P.I.

Along his way, Rockford encounters a myriad of intriguing characters including clairvoyants and undercover Federal Operatives in his quest to restore peace and quiet.

Jim's lawyer Beth Davenport (Gretchen Corbett) makes a number of appearances this season as does Jim's shady friend Angel (Stuart Margolin) who as always get Rockford into loads of trouble.

Guest stars include Veronica Hamel, Ron Rifkin, and Burt Young.
