M*A*S*H
Season 7

The war in Korea wages on with no end in sight, but the medical corps at the 4077 Mobile Army Surgical Hospital valiantly battle on against soulless military bureaucracy, tedium and absurdity. M*A*S*H Season Seven forges boldly ahead with memorable episodes such as "Point of View" where the entire episode is filmed from the point of view of a young soldier as he is wounded, flown by helicopter to the 4077, examined, operated on and treated in post-operation.

The character of Major Charles Emerson Winchester III (David Ogden Stiers) introduced in Season Six comes into his own in three of his finest half hours. "Major Ego" in which he lets a magazine profile go to his already swollen head; "Rally Round the Flagg, boys" in which he outwits camp nemesis Colonel Flagg; and "Ain't Love Grand" in which he falls for a Korean girl he meets at Rosie's Bar.

Another series benchmark is Alan Alda's (Hawkeye) increasing interest in working behind the camera. In the seventh series Alda writes and directs several episodes including "Dear Sis" where Father Mulcahy writes to his sister of his frustration at not being more effective at the 4077, and the Emmy Award winning "Inga" which sees Hawkeye's ego bruised by an attractive and accomplished woman doctor.
