Followed by the hilarious 'Iron Guts Kelly', a 'hands on' general dies in Hot Lips' tent, forcing his loyal aide to dump his body in a combat zone so he dies on record in a glorious hail of bullets. 'OR' is a one-of-a-kind episode in that it is based entirely in the operating theatre with the following episodes displaying the shows typical comedy contempt for authority. This third season also boasts the most famous episode of the series 'Abyssinia Henry', an episode which marks the shock departure of Col. Blake.

The season has many landmark episodes that change the structure of all future series.
